Geek B'day + Big Mac + Movies + Blog Wars

Greetings all. Good to be here. Enough with intros, on with the content:

Happy Birthday, Star Trek
Geek or not, Trek has impacted your life in some way. Take a moment (when nobody is looking) to sing "Happy Birthday" to Kirk, Spock, et al. 40 years ago tonight, they first ventured into the Final Frontier.

Big Mac
Wednesday, Apple introduced the largest all-in-one Mac ever (if we're going by screen size...the Molar Mac I think still holds the record for weight/volume). The 24" iMac shall henceforth be known as the "Big Mac" on this blog.

Amazon 'Unboxes' Movie Downloads
Using a non-iPod (and non-anything-but-Windows-XP) compatible format, Amazon launches movie downloads -- ahead of Apple. But I don't think Jobs & Co. have anything to worry about. Won't play on my iPod? If I wanted to watch a movie on my computer, I have a DVD drive or YouTube (I mean, c'mon...what's funnier than the Dark Lord of the Produce Aisle?). But don't take my word for it.

Free Stuff: SendStation PocketDocks
SendStation is giving away 1000 free PocketDock Firewire iPod adapters. Get 'em while you can.

Blog Wars
I was going to comment on the ongoing blog flamewar between the Macalope, JackWhispers/FixYourThinking, and George Ou. I still may, but in the meantime check out the links for some class A entertainment.

That's all for now; I'll pop in again soon.
